How do I know if the foundation of my house should be repaired or replaced?

Some warning signs are typical of a foundation that needs to be partially or completely replaced. If there are several cracks in the foundation, if the concrete is crumbling, or if there are signs of water damage (moisture stains, water infiltration, etc.), you should consult an expert.

The cause

The leading cause of these problems is concrete aging (which may be premature or not). This may be because it is low-quality concrete, old concrete, or concrete that is not well protected.

 

The Long-Lasting Solution

In such cases, the building foundation must be replaced in order to repair foundation cracks, crumbling concrete, or water infiltration problems, and several phases will be required.

 

The Scope of Work

  3. Support the brick
  4. Excavate and demolish the existing foundation
  5. Install the footing
  6. Install the formwork and cast the cement
  7. Waterproof the structure and backfill

Major repair work on a building foundation should only be entrusted to a company specialized in foundations.
