Upgrading of slab

Concrete floor on uneven and cracked soil

Concrete slab made on:

  • Inadequate backfill
  • A poorly compacted soil

The solution

The micro-piles (steel piles of small size) are used to permanently stabilize the existing slab without having to demolish or remove the fill.

Work to be performed

  1. Circular holes are drilled into the floor
  2. Slab support brackets are slid beneath the floor
  3. Steel piles are driven to refusal
  4. Hydraulic jacks are used to raise the floor
  5. Piles and holes are filled with concrete, the slab being now supported by steel piles
